Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival

The Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival had an interesting panel discussion on ‘Media and Social Change: More Bark than Bite’ on January 17, 2016.

The panelists of the session were eminent personalities from around the country like Ashish Nandy, Vir Sanghvi, Saba Naqvi, Prerna Langa, and Ruchir Joshi. The session was chaired by two founder members of the Calcutta Debating Circle, Dr. Kunal Sarkar, and Mr. Pradeep Gooptu. A Young Discussant Team was put together with debaters from the city chosen and mentored by the CDC. This team also included Dipanjana Roy from Loreto College. The discussion ventured into some interesting areas when the speakers eloquently and unabashedly put forward the effects of new media in today’s society.
