Inauguration of the PG course in English
Ten years ago, Loreto College had seen a vision- the commencement of the post graduate programme in English. After devoting a lot of hard work, Loreto College on 28th September 2016 witnessed a truly historical moment, the inauguration of the Masters course in English. The ceremony began with a welcome note by our Principal, Sister Christine. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by Sister Christine, Sister Anita, Dr Aditi Dasgupta and Mangala Gauri Chakraborty. The lighting of the lamp was followed by a prayer service. After this auspicious moment, different speakers spoke on the sweat; determination and hard work that went behind making this dream a reality. This was followed by a beautiful rendition by Sister Marilla and Sister Molly as they acknowledged the presence of God among all of us through a song. Two professors from the English department sang Amar Mukti Aloy Aloy by Tagore and added value to the entire programme. After this, Sister Anita addressed the audience and pointed out how important it is for women to have a stand of their own. The programme came to an end with Dr Sumita Banerjees vote of thanks. This was indeed a milestone for the college!
